Listen to the Only Recording of Otto Von Bismark’s Voice (Thanks to Thomas Edison)

It seems like half of the media I discover and share has some link to Thomas Edison, something that isn’t going to change with this latest post.  A recent wax cylinder from Edison’s laboratory has recently been found to contain the voice of Otto von Bismarck, the Prussian statesman ultimately responsible for the formation of Germany.  This is an incredible discovery and though his voice is quiet (and the background noise prominent), Bismarck can clearly be heard talking into the recording horn of Edison’s device.  Definitely worth a listen if only for the rarest or rare chances to listen to the past and hear a voice that was, until now, thought forever lost to history.
